Festival of Light

Here it is again the festival of light
Where people decorate their home by
Lamps made of vivid colors and shapes
Which brings not only light
But brings people together

Here it is again the festival of light
Which makes the entire city shine
Once the sun sets and darkness covers
Keeping away people from demons and negativity

Here it is again the festival of light
Which showers ray of hope within people
Encouraging to get best out of life
And spend each second of our lives
With smile on face and in joy

Walk by Seashore

Do u remember the walk by seashore
Under the colorful sky
As the sun set after a long busy day
After we had fun in cold and salty sea.

Do u remember the walk by seashore
As we held hands and moved along sea
Forgetting world around us
Mesmerized in the world of two
Our own world which we cherish being.

Do u remember the walk by seashore
On the golden sand in golden hour
As the sky turned to gold
Which brought us immense joy.

Do u remember the walk by seashore
As our hearts spoke
Even though we remained silent
Where so many people were having fun
Surrounded by children
Who were busy making their own sand castle
 With sheer effort and happiness.

Do u remember the walk by seashore
Where at one moment our eyes met
And they conveyed the message
What our hearts were thinking moment ago
Which brings smile on our faces
And we embrace each other
As the sun goes bringing light on other part of world.

A Dream come True !! My Visit to Bangalore Literature Fest 2014

Have you ever made a wishlist and wondered if it'd come true? Have you ever thought in your wildest dreams that you'd get a chance to meet a person whom you follow lot? Have you ever traveled alone to an unknown place with lot of hopes and dreams?

My answer is yes,  28th Sep 2014, I had been to Bangalore Literature Fest after doing last minute decisions even though i had planned before month i was not sure i'd be attending this as i had a project to complete. This was literally like an adventure for me!! Just like the Hobbit, Bilbo  who leaves the bag end and comes out of his comfort zone and goes on an adventure to Lonely Mountain, I had been to fest with lot of hopes and expectations of meeting my favorite author Preeti Shenoy, One among the great celebrities in India and one among so down to earth person I know !!  and my blogger friends Gayu di and Jayanth whom I met in Facebook. ( Facebook does help in getting good friends for life! )

I was sleepless previous night as I had made the decision to go to fest and was awake till 3 coz of excitement ! My heart said just go and attend the fest coz of 2 equally important  reasons.

1. That i'd be meeting friends whom I probably donno when again i'l meet.
2. Meeting my fav author!

So I got to hear my mobile ringing morning and i saw the time it was 9am !! I was running late out of time ! I got ready in half an hour and had breakfast and reached Majestic after so many odds which I had to face! To speak about odds I din get proper food in pg and when i went to hotel I got the food late and when I ran to get the bus I got into a wrong one and eventually made it to Majestic !! I made it to Volvo bus which i like lot and with lot of excitement and thinking if I could make it before 11 am . I thought i'd be getting up early which I dint and thought it would be late now. But the Volvo went so fast in the busy traffic on Sunday morning that I made it on time! It was so sunny I could feel happiness in air ! I couldn't believe I was on an adventure on my dream was about to come true.

Once I reached the venue I called Jay and I was so happy when I heard him on phone and later met him in person. The Venue Crown Plaza , Electronic City was so peaceful and was like a park. We both went to the  place where Preeti Shenoy and few more authors were about to speak on Love and relationships. Once I reached I met Gayu di and her friend Prema !! I felt even more happy !! Next I met Satish sir !! Preeti ma'ms husband and I was stunned for a moment and I couldn't believe this was happening !! I shook hand and then we all sat in 2nd row with Satish sir on 1st row. I was wondering when will Preeti ma'm come and I saw actress Tisca Chopra on stage! I was like OMG!! after few seconds I turned my attention to left side of stage and i saw lady with long hairs and in pink dress and in astonishment I realize its Preeti Shenoy my Favourite Author!!!!! My heartbeat rised and I was on cloud9 !! I couldn't believe my eyes! I couldn't stop smiling !! All of us enjoyed the session and got to hear so many views about love and relationship.

People who spoke were :
Vijay Nagaswamy, Preeti Shenoy & Milan Vohra | Nandita Bose

'Live life to the fullest' says Preeti ma'm and I just make a mental note of it. Once the panal discussion was over ma'm gets down from stage and goes to left side of stage and we people go and stand next to her with lot of excitement !! For my badluck I forgot to get a notepad to get autograph!! Ma'm enquired was there any trouble reaching the place and shook hands . I still couldn't believe this was happening !! It was like a dream!! Gayu di asks for group pic for which ma'm agrees and later we get individual pics with ma'm. And later I requested for an autograph for which ma'm agreed and I got a Gayu di was kind enough for getting a diary. Finally my wishlist was coming true ! I told ma'm it was dream come true as she signed and it was in my secret wishlist for she smiled and my heart skipped a beat !! Later each of my friends got autograph and then ma'm preeti m'am n satish sir left and we were smiling as it was dream come true moment for us!

We attended even more panal discussions later which was hilarious and even more interesting . I saw Padmashri Girish Karnad and heard him speak. It was awesome! Later we had lunch and got hold of juice in scroaching heat even though it was so lushy with trees. We spend some time speaking and enjoyed lot till evening which i can go on writing even more and eventually bid farewell. Gayu di was kind enough to get an autograph with a message! I felt so touched when gayu di hugged me . I felt like I was spending time with my cousins ! I thought I made right decision listening to my heart and came to meet Jay and di since i knew it was not possible anytime soon again!

Here are some of pics ,

I'd like to thank Preeti Ma'm for autograph and so much love :) and Jay and Gayu di for so much of memories and love :) <3 Hope we will be meeting soon again :) At the end all I wanna say is "Listen to your heart ! " Dreams do come true!! Chase it !!

My Review:

I've read quite number of novels but I've never reviewed any , I couldn't stop myself from reviewing this novel. The blurb and the novel's cover took my attention and was so eagerly waiting to read. With so much of happiness and expectation i started reading book and I must say , was not let down. I enjoyed the book lot. It was totally mesmerizing.

The author has narrated the story in an amazing way that I couldn't stop myself from reading. I really enjoyed how the author conveys story to reader. To say about characters the author has handled exact amount of emotions required. Ananya , a renowned author, wife and a caring mother handles situation in a brave manner and does justice to each role she plays. Author has described each role in a beautiful way as the story goes on and keeps readers cling on. Even when she gets stuck in difficult situations life throws she remains courageous and brave. The favorite part on how to be strong even when time is against us.

Here's a quote I liked from novel,

"Being yourself is what you call divine happiness. Happiness is sacred only when you  respect God's creation that is you. God created you with perfection and by being yourself, you can taste sacred happiness."

There's so many situations I liked lot in the novel. Overall I am in love with the novel and i'd recommend it to read.

My rating: 4.5/5 stars!

Zest up your life

Life, as we know it, is a series of events; some of which we love and some we hate. Sometimes there comes a time when our life takes a huge turn and things change so much at once. But gradually things start falling back to their place and a certain routine is set. Once this is done, life is more or less same, monotonous! But who would love to lead a boring life? I definitely don't! If there is nothing that can zest up your life, break that monotonous routine and bring a smile on face, then such a life is worthless! I am lucky that I have a few things and people on my list, who can always bring back that zest in my life. Here are the top five of that list

 1. My Family:
Being a single child, I have always been pampered and loved to the core. There was always someone with me, when I needed, be it my mom (who is my world), my dad and my two aunts. I am blessed to have them in my life. Whenever I was tensed, a chat with them instantly lifts my spirits. They guided me when confusion clouded my vision and believed in me when I lost faith in myself. For me, they come first and their company always cheers me and strengthens me.

 2. Friends
True Friends are like gems; they are hard to find. And often there is a chance of confusing the gems with the pubbles. But as time passes, we understand who real friends are! I am blessed to have a few such friends who have always stood by me, no matter how worse the situation was! They have filled me with courage and helped me keep persevering without giving up, when that seemed the wisest choice! They make me smile when I am sad and in their company, I forget the pain. Friends definitely make my life better.

 3. Photography
I am a nature lover and I love to capture different moods of nature with my Nokia Lumia 720, my companion in this pursuit of mine. Its not only nature, I also love to capture wildlife, still objects and most of all, I love to capture smiles. I wish I could preserve all these smiles safely and through them spread happiness in the world. Going through the pics I clicked always fills me with joy and makes my heart proud if the picture has turned out too well. And oh, did I mention? I love to smile for the camera too!

 4. Sketching
A hobby I picked up recently. I had seen so many of my friends post pics of the sketches they made on facebook and had always admired it. Though I had drew few things back in school days, I had never thought of taking this as a hobby again until I was left with no choice but to oblige under the pressure and threats made by my friend and oh, I am glad I did. I hadn't expected the outcome to be so beautiful. Many loved my sketches and of lately I have even received some requests to make their portraits. When in stress, sketching is definitely something that works as a stress buster.

 5. Music
I cannot imagine my life without music! Music has divine powers. It can soothe your mind and fill you with peace. At the same time, it can energize you and leave you refreshed and ready to take up on the next task at hand, that you have been putting off for too long now. That is how music is to me. No matter what my  mood is, a dose of music is all it takes to pick myself up and get back on the track. Afterall music is magic and it is definitely something that zests up my life to a great extent!
The list can go on. But for now, I have to stop at five, as these were the top 5 on my list of things/people that zest up my life. What is it that zests up your life? Do let me know.

Five Sentence Fiction #1 : Feathers

Pic source: http://lilliemcferrin.com/five-sentence-fiction-feathers/

It was a dense forest and 12 year old , pooja was travelling with her father who was a forest officer believed he was the hero who protects animals of forest.

They came across many animals like rabbit ,deer along the way and little girl was so happy seeing them as she was getting an opportunity of seeing the animals from close distance in their world far from the busy life of metropolitan city.

As they moved little farther they came across a peacock dancing amidst green trees with colorful feathers spread open.

Pooja was just mesmerized watching the peacock dance with the breathtaking beautiful feathers shining under sun which made her forget all the sadness and asked if this peacocks are safe in forest.

Her father told that he made sure no bird is attacked by poachers who kill the bird for feathers and the little girl was proud of her father and just said to herself her father is real hero.

Down the Lonely street

It was late midnight
Down the lonely street
When all the stars were out
I chose to have a walk
Alone in the street

The street lights were glittering
The street was wet with water
As it had rained
I walk down the street
Enjoying the cold breeze

The street was so quiet
So quiet that i found peace
It made me forget all the pain
And brought a smile on my face

As i walk along the street
The roads took curve
Ups and downs
Just like life has

It made me think about people
Who were with me
Sharing my joy n pain
And rest of people who just fake it

 I reached home
With the thoughts in mind
And feelings in heart
With a smile on my face
As the walk taught me lot
Lot about Life.

Keep Smiling
